Research of Interest

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major worldwide health problem owing to its high prevalence and mortality rates. In Thailand, CRC is the first ranking of cancer incidence in men and the third in women. Despite the advances made in understanding the etiology of this disease and the incorporation of novel chemotherapy and biological agents, the prevalence of colon cancer and the mortality associated with this malignancy are very high and remain a serious concern in cancer care. Dietary chemoprevention has an attractive new strategies approached for CRC treatment. There are convincing evidences that lifestyle and dietary risk factors strongly associated with increased or decreased risk of CRC. Chemoprevention which involved the use of phytochemicals and even whole plan extracts to prevent, combat or reverse the processes of cellular and molecular in carcinogenesis due to its multiple intervention strategies. The research focus on using natural product as chemopreventive treatment to inhibit CRC and study the underlying mechanism of natural product on CRC inhibition.
